NO GAS MONDAY!

NO-GAS MONDAY! This is the beginning of week seven...only 45 weeks to go.

My pledge is to NOT buy any petroleum products on Monday for an entire year. If everyone would agree to ban buying gas on Monday for a year, we could force corporate America to take notice.

For Heaven's Sake

I am a fundamentalist Christian. For those who are not sure what that means: I believe the Bible is God's Spoken Word written by men God conveyed His Truth to in order that they might put His Word into writing for all mankind to read and know that He is God...the only God...and that His Word is the Truth...the only Truth.

A daily conversation is all that God desires once you are Born Again and have been baptized. He wants to get to know you and be a part of your life. If you are willing and give your life over to Him, He will fill your days with never-ending opportunities to serve Him and all mankind.

God may even use your dreams to give you a vision of the future. And, as Simon & Garfunkel so aptly put it in the song "Sound of Silence"...listen to the warnings.

Hello darkness, my old friend, I've come to talk with you again. Because a vision softly in creeping, left its seeds while I was sleeping, And the vision that was planted in my brain still remains within the sound of silence.

In restless dreams, I walked alone narrow streets of cobblestone. 'Neath the halo of an East street lamp, I turned my collar to the cold and damp, when my eyes were stabbed by the flash of a neon light that split the night and touched the sound of silence.

And, in the naked light, I saw ten thousand people, maybe more. People talking without speaking, people hearing without listening, people writing songs that voices never share and no one dare disturb the sound of silence.

"Fools" said I, "You do not know…Silence like a cancer grows. Hear my words that I might teach you, take my arms that I might reach you!" But my words like silent raindrops fell, and echoed in the wells of silence.

And the people bowed and prayed to the neon god they made. And the sign flashed out its warning, in the words that it was forming. And the sign said, "The words of the prophets are written on the subway walls and tenement halls." And whisper'd in the sounds of silence.

For Heaven's Sake!
